Primary Video Adapter is inactive option (setting to Int Graphics)

IGD Secondary Video Port is set to Auto. Last time when I switch this option to None I must return motherboad to seller (permanent no video signal in monitor) - this is my second new one (replaced) motherboard with similar problem I do not wantto spoilit

Re: DZ77GA-70K - 0060 BIOS - Marvell drives still disappearing

I just received my board a week ago and installed two Samsung 840 Pros in Raid 0 on the Intel Controller without issue for my boot volume, which is great I might add. I also added a 1 TB WD Black secondary storage drive thinking I could use the Marvell Controller seeing as the Intel SATA revision 3 ports were used by my array but WRONG! That WD drive was disappearing at random so I figured I would check to see if there was a BIOS update and sure enough there was version 0061 sitting out there. I flashed the BIOS and everything seemed to work fine and now my WD drive had been attached for a whole day for the first time since I built this new workstation. Well I was feeling froggy and thought I would start copying some of my old PCs stuff over to my storage drive to have quick access to and that was the wrong thing to do because as soon as I tried to copy anything large it disappeared AGAIN! I had to do a reboot as usual and it's back. This is getting REALLY annoying and I really don't want to have to send the board back because I love the way it looks and functions otherwise. I mean they should have either made sure this controller was going to work with everything or put more than just 2 Intel SATA revision 3 ports on there. I mean why not just put another Intel SATA controller on there so we could have some more 6 G ports? Is this EVER going to be fixed at this point? I need an answer so I can either send this back or be looking forward to a fully functional workstation before I start saving my C++ projects to this storage drive!

hello mkrishna,

i agree with victor_intel,

i believe dh77kc is not a motherboard with overclocking options, getting a i7 3770k with overclocking options for this mother board would be a expenditure which could be saved for other accessories.there is not much difference in specifications for these two processors. the board is however compatible with both the processors as per intel's compatibility utility.

DX79SI Not booting to OS. Post error on screen shows 0_

Hi Gurus,

We had integrated a system with Intel DX79SI, Intel 3960X, 4x8GB RAM, Asus HD7970 DC2T-3GD5 GPU, Adaptec 6405 RAID Controller, 4 SAS Drives, DVD RW, 1000W Cooler Master PSU etc. On Powering up the system, the POST screen along with system details RAID config etc and freezes with 0_ post error on screen. The On board Diagnostic LED show 00. But system does not boot to OS. The display shows 0_ on right bottom. The same graphic card and other components are functional with Asus Rampage iv extreme. The BIOS ver is 553.

Kindly advice and help to find a solution.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks Mark,

I think you're right. This slot is clearly intended to be a video slot and I have updated to the latest BIOS but no delta in behavior.

The really ODD thing is that if I have LINK at boot time on a port then it will function properly. OR if I go into the hardware manager and change a mode setting on the Advanced tab, something that causes it to delay or appear to 'think' before closing the dialog after I click OK, then it also works OK from that point on. So it obviously can work properly. I just need to determine the magic formula to get it to do that unattended at boot time when there is no link on the port. If anyone has any additional thoughts, links or guidance for a workaround it would be appreciated. I'm stuck.

Thanks again,

Steve

As I stated above, I have an open ticket with Intel. I'm sure it will be fixed in a newer BIOS revision. When? Who the hell knows. I haven't heard from Intel in over a month and last they replied, they told me it is under investigation. They fixed it and broke it again. YES, it IS annoying.. BUt it can be fixed with a BIOS update. So I would wait. Otherwise, maybe we should all team-up and file a class-action suit.

I installed the driver but no joy

After rebooting I momentarily thought it had worked but my tired eyes were kidding me there was a difference

Is there anything else I could try?  I thought about reinstalling the TV card software/drivers

I might try that eventually

Thanks for your generous time & help Nic, I have learned a bit anyway.

Actually, that screenshot was taken in a non-native resolution. My native resolution is 1920x1080, and that picture was taken when the resolution was at 1280x1024. If the screen is in my native resolution, then I only see one option, that is Maintain Display Scaling.

I bet this has to do with that optimus crap, which is nice and all, but there should be a way disable it and manually turn off one graphic card, or like my friend laptop, were the system use the integrated graphic when is in battery mode, and the radeon when is plugged.

Thanks

Network adapter - set to Gigabit speed

Hello,

I have an Intel DG31PR motherboard.  Recently installed a Gigabit router, but Win 7 Device Manager shows the Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller Network Adapter running at 100 MB.  How can I force it up to Gigabit?  Other devices on the wired network are running at Gigabit speed.

Thanks, Greg.

I can't think why the adapter would negotiate a 100 connection unless maybe you are using an old piece of ethernet cable. Try using Cat5e or better. Also assuming you've installed the Realtek LAN driver available for download from the intel website.

Control Panel

Device Manager

Network adapters

right click and get properties for the adapter

under the advanced tab there's a property setting called Speed & Duplex.  By default the value is set to Auto Negotiation. Set the value to 1.0 Gbps Full Duplex.

Hopefully that fixes your problem.

SSD doesn't fit in a HP Z820 workstation

I want to install two SSD 520 240GB (SSDSC2CW240A310) in a HP Z820 workstation.

The problem is that I cannot find a brachet that fits an Intel SSD. I've already bought three, but all the brackets seem to misalign approx. 3 mm.

The problem is that the drive has to be installed in a sled that is put in the bay where the SATA connector are on fixed locations. So no cabling (that's good) but all brackets misalign the intel SSD drive.

Any ideas where I can buy a brackets that fits correctly in a Z820?

I have no problems with the IDU. Are you using the latest version of everything? My system is pretty stable, except for that stupid Marvell issue. Although, every once in a while, my system locks up (I'm using an SSD), and executing the shutdown process makes it work again... not sure why that happens..

I'm using a SSD Raid 0 array for my OS volume like I said before and all else seems well except for my storage drive on the Marvell controller also however I have noticed one other thing that's new. I that've everything updated of course but after doing this 0061 BIOS update I can't hit F2 on POST to get into the UEFI. I mean sometimes it'll let me in from a cold boot but I've yet to be able to get in on a restart. Any thoughts?

Intel 520 240GB Questions

I've had my 520 since August and one thing that always bothered me was sometimes when I would reboot or reset the drive would be missing from the BIOS as my boot drive. If I power off and back on it would work as normal I would just need to setup in Bios again and list it as the primary HD Boot device.

This happened on the following motherboards and so I'm sure it's not the motherboard:

Asus Sabertooth P67

Asus Sabertooth X79

and now I have the Asus Rampage IV motherboard.

The other think I just noticed is my CorsairLink software shows 0 for Drive Temp. I also installed HD Temperature and while the software reports the health is OK, it says Temperature: Unsupported. Also my SSD Toolbox can access, optimize and interact with the device fine. Any ideas?

Re: DZ77RE-75K Loses Marvell Drives

Well, I finally have a configured stable system just the way i like it and was ready to try the marvell ports again.

Alas, same thing. Freshly cleaned drives, updated drivers, total failure when trying to write to the drives.

This happens inside Win7 with just file copy, and with cloning the disk using Seagate/Acronis DiscWizard in it's WinPE-like mode, AND in Linux booting from CD and doing a dd.

This definitely tells me it's not OS/driver related and something in the hardware. I wouldn't know if BIOS can help or if it's a fundamental hardware issue with the architecture. But the fact remains that i can't use them, and i really need to.

sigh.

I'm seeing a similar thing on my keyboard too. (on DZ77RE-75K)

i have a logitech G19 and when the system is in some sort of abnormal shutdown (BSOD, hard power off (hold power off for 5 seconds), etc.) the reboot doesn't initialize the keyboard properly during POST.

Don't know why, but i usually have to shutdown cold, switch of the PS, and unplug the power connector to the keyboard.

Annoying.

Re: 82579V + 16.8 drivers = strange behavior ?

Hello:

I bought a new Lenovo PC last year. It came with Windows 7 and the Intel 82579LM Gigabit Network Connection Adapter. I had no connections issues until I upgraded to Windows 8. Now the PC boots up without a connection almost every time. I downloaded and installed the latest driver 82579V. However, each time I boot my PC, Windows uses the old version 82579LM and I still get the disconnected network. I can (and have) uninstalled 82579LM and installed 82579V using the Device Manager but that does not solve the problem because at boot time it founds 82579LM and installs it again. How do I permanently uninstall the 82579LM driver and install 82579V? Until I do that I won't know if my connection issue is solved with 82579V.   Thanks for any help.
