I tried to post earlier today but couldn't. Anyway, the sound icon had red 'X' on it and there was no audio devices listed in playback devices. When I roll back to Microsoft audio driver I see 2 items on playback devices but they are only available in stereo. When I update audio driver to Intel Display Audio then sound icon shows 'X'. I decided to uninstall everything under Sound, video and game controllers. After reboot, Microsoft driver kept on coming back. I had to update it to Intel Display Audio but that didn't solve the issue. After a couple different tries, I came across 'add legacy hardware' in device manager and that seem to do the trick. It doesn't make sense but it is what it is. I'm seeing my AV processor as playback device. It appears Microsoft audio driver was preventing Intel from install the rest of the stuff besides Intel Display Audio (didn't see Intel Widi until I added legacy hardware). Hope this will help someone else who has the same issue.
