Good morning everyone,
I own a Dell Latitude E6520 laptop equipped with an Intel, Centrino Ultime N 6300 Wi-Fi card. The computer has been running on Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit and since a week, with Windows 8 Pro. The issue occurs on both platforms
Since a few months what happens is that:
- when resuming the laptop from sleep
- when changing the wifi network connection (in a place that shows multiple wifi connections)
the computer will show a "Limited connectivity". Basically the wifi connection is successful, however the Internet is not reachable.
What solves the problem:
- rebooting
- waiting; takes minutes to "unlock"
- opening a command prompt, and forcing the following commands:
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
I have tried to:
- use Microsoft Windows default driver
- use Dell/Intel's specific driver version 15.05.1000.1411, A00 (also switching between Windows/Intel management of the network card)
- disable/enable the option "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power", in the adapter options
Details
- The problem started affecting the laptop after about one year of successful usage
What can i try?
