I've got the same problem and can't find a solution. With Windows 8.0 everything worked, but not with Windows 8.1.
I've got a Lenovo Thinkpad Twist 33477SG with an Intel wireless N 2230 card and after I updated all the drivers the "add wireless display" won't appear.
I also tried to uninstall the driver of n2230 and the graphic and reinstall it manually.
I would be glad to hear a solution! 
Edit: The TV I tried to connect to is the LG50LA6678-ZB and it is listed here.
It is also possible to play videos via Video app on TV. But I can not make a full connection on the TV screen, to show anything else.
