Hello,
I have had the same "snow" problem everyone else here has talked about. Had to reinstall Windows 8.1, all my programs etc... So I too was hesitant to try anything 'unproven'. However I mustered up the courage <GRIN> to try the 10.18.10.3282 driver.
I created a Restore Point and then installed the driver and everything seems to work fine! I have been running it for about 3 days. The 1 remaining issue is HDMI sound. That still isn't working. I am hopeful Intel will figure this out soon.
I downloaded the driver from : Microsoft Update Catalog. When you go to this site you will see 2 drivers with the same version number. Not sure the difference, but I used the first one. It is 94.6 MB in size.
1 other thing worth mentioning. Some of you have reported a fuzzy look to certain Windows. I too have had this. And still do. From what I have been reading, Microsoft has changed the way the OS handles 'scaling'. Scaling is different than resolution, but has a similar effect. It is a way of dealing with small high res monitors that are becoming the norm. So with HD display on a 11" laptop you need superman eyes or a magnifying glass <G>. So scaling allows item on the screen to scale larger while keeping the same HS resolution. Apparently certain programs, including some in the OS (Device Manger for example) show up fuzzy.
Hopefully this is something that will get better with newer drivers, updates, etc. I bring this up, because it is my understanding that these fuzzy screens, at least for now, are normal.
You can adjust this. Go to PC and Devices, Display. At the bottom there is More Option. It is probably set to Default. You can change this to Smaller and will notice those fuzzy windows get better, but a lot smaller.
