Hello,
I would like to add few things to this post, since I have the same problem as Oskar and I've been trying a lot of things.
My computer is a HP Elitebook 8470p with the same card as you Oskar: Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6205.
OS is Windows 7 pro 64 bits.
Your answere, Nathalie, says to install our computers manufacturer's driver.
Here is what I have tried so far:
-Install Windows pilots
-Install HP specific pilots (with and without the Intel proset wireless software, of several versions, old and new ones)
-Install Intel specific pilots (with and without the Intel proset wireless software, of several versions, old and new ones)
All the pilots install successfully, without exception, and nothing in Device Manager says there might be something wrong: the card is there and it says it is working properly.
Even after reboots, here is what is happening:
- no wireless network is shown neither in intel proset wireless software, neither in Windows wireless network connections
- the card is not listed in ipconfig /all
- Running the "Manual Diagnostic Tool", the test fails on the first one "Hardware Test" with this result: Wireless Hardware id not bound to transport driver"
HINTS:
I've tried booting the computer with Ubuntu and the card is working fine: I see all the wifi networks and I can connect. This really is a problem with the drivers for Windows 7, especially 64 bits version.
Please, a fix would be appreciated, since Internet is full of forums with people having this specific problem. Saying to contact our manufacturer is not going to help, since they say to contact Intel. We would appreciate to use your product...
thanks a lot in advance!
