780Z5E-S01UB WiDi software packaging broken

I recently purchased a series 7 chronos laptop.  Sometime during updating the drivers for the Intel components the WiDi v3.5.40.0 application consistently misdetects the current driver versions for the included HD 4000 graphics and insists that I upgrade them.  As it's already on it's most recent release, I'm at a loss as to what Intel expects me to do to make their product function properly.  Upon attempting to upgrade to 3.5.41.0 it erroneously detects the laptop and associated chipsets as incompatible.  There appears to be no sane handling for rollbacks, repairs, or mediation generally.  The Intel support site itself exhibits 0 length webserver timeouts when attempting to chat with someone about any wireless issues.  WiDi would be a great piece of technology if it worked.  Any suggestions?

Driver versions:

HD Graphics 4000 - v9.17.10.2932 (12/12/12)

Intel Centrino Advanced-N6235 - v15.6.1.6

Software versions:

WiDi v3.5.40.0

Thanks
